Beginning January 2, 2011, the Heart of the Nation TV Mass will be carried on the ION Network via cable, satellite, and select broadcast channels. Heart of the Nation's mission is to reach all those in need who rely on the TV Mass for vital connection to their faith and the community of faithful. Join us for Sunday Mass.
From televising Catholic Mass in a few metropolitan areas in 2010, Heart of the Nation's TV Mass ministry will multiply more than two hundredfold by expanding onto the ION Network.
ION will show the "My Sunday Mass" at 9:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. CT every Sunday morning on 136 cable stations, 25 broadcast channels, and on DirecTV and the Dish Network. Heart of the Nation will also continue to broadcast the Mass in our established locations inCalifornia,Texas, andWisconsin.
The TV Mass is closed-captioned, and Heart of the Nation also provides free, large-print Prayer and Worship Guide subscriptions to viewers upon request.
Watching the TV Mass does not meet the Sunday Mass obligation for Catholics who are able to participate in person. "My Sunday Mass" is produced especially for the pastoral care of Catholics unable to get to a church because of illness, frailty, dangerous weather conditions, or other struggles.
