Watching The Countdown!

Jesus sent forth the disciples to heal in His name and proclaim the Kingdom of God (Matthew 10). Step by step, place by place, the Lord's earthly ministry was growing. After the Resurrection, the Risen Lord instructed His disciples to go out to all the nations (Matthew 28).  In Scripture, Heart of the Nation found the inspiration to grow.

Heart of the Nation's TV Mass ministry began in Los Angeles back in the 1980's and gradually expanded to six major metropolitan viewing areas. Then came the opportunity to launch the TV Mass on the ION Network, adding 25 broadcast channels, plus cable and satellite channels across the country.

By the fall of 2011, however, Heart of the Nation faced the prospect of having to cancel the Mass in many areas of the country unless we could raise the funds needed to renew our upcoming contracts for TV airtime.

The "Countdown to Renewal" fund drive began!  We continue to count down the 1,500 new or increased donations needed to keep the Mass on TV in all of our current locations.

When Jesus sent the disciples on their way, He told them not to take provisions or money with them, relying instead on the generosity of the people they encountered (Mark 6). Like the early disciples, Heart of the Nation relies on the support of the people we serve. In January 2012, we passed the halfway mark in our Countdown. It was enough to keep the Mass on TV for now, but only if progress in the Countdown continues.

While many viewers cannot afford a large donation, Heart of the Nation invites donors to join Circle of the Heart by pledging a smaller, monthly donation. (Because circumstances sometimes change, pledges may be cancelled at any time.)
