Virtues we should strive for everyday

From the time that the angel Gabriel told Mary that God has chosen her to be the mother of His Son, people have shared the joy of the Holy Family. Each Joyful Mystery is associated with a virtue that we can strive to imitate.


While praying five decades of the rosary, we contemplate five Joyful Mysteries and the virtues they teach:

The Annunciation

Mary responded with humility to the angel Gabriel’s message.


Visitation of Mary

Making a long and arduous journey to help Elizabeth, Mary gives us an example of love in action.


Nativity of the Lord

Born in a lowly place, our Savior wants us to be poor in spirit, not focused on earthly treasure.


Presentation of Jesus in the Temple

Mary and Joseph presented their firstborn at the temple, in obedience to the law that Jesus came to fulfill.


Finding Jesus in the Temple

Mary and Joseph searched anxiously for 12-year-old Jesus and experienced the joy of finding Him in His heavenly Father’s house.
