Octave of Easter

Picture the Risen Lord lightheartedly greeting His friends and followers. Mary Magdalene mistook Him for the gardener. (“Mary!”) Two disciples heading to Emmaus a couple of days after the Crucifixion asked if He hadn’t heard about the things that occurred in Jerusalem. (“What sort of things?”) Mistaken for a ghost, Jesus asked the Disciples for something to eat. (Would a ghost do that?) Jesus appeared on the shore of the Sea of Tiberius, and Peter jumped into the water. (What could the Lord say?) Peter and John later found themselves in hot water for ministering in Jesus’ name. Even when we find it hard to talk about or even recognize the Lord’s presence in our lives, what sort of things make it impossible to stop believing that He knows and loves us?
