3/12/19: Prayer for Patience
Lord, please be patient with me. When I wonder when my turn will come For the peace of mind I seek, Turn my thoughts to trust in You, Who know my every need. Lord, please be patient with me. When even a moment seems too long For awaited news to come, May my greatest longing be That Your will be done. Lord, please be patient with me. When at times I might not be bothered, For other things seem pressing, Please grant me Your help to use time As a precious blessing. Amen.

Lord Jesus, How often do I put myself first, Instead of thanking, only asking? Lord, whose gaze never averts, Thank You for Your love everlasting. Amen.
3/10/19: Prayer for Lenten Blessing
Lord, my Savior, During this holy season of Lent, I pray in gratitude That You lived and died to bring Salvation through Your love and mercy. Vulnerable as in the desert, I pray to have the strength To overcome temptation– To thirst for holiness, though I am weak. Renewed in Baptismal commitment, I pray that the faith I share Will be a hope-filled blessing For others searching and in need. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Humbly I ask, through the gift of faith, For the blessing of Your Holy Spirit’s grace: To profess eternal truth that is You, In the words I say and in all that I do; To celebrate the nourishment You give That, in believing, forever I will live; To proceed in ways that let others see Grace-filled wonder and hope, because I believe; To pray with confidence that when I seek, Though I may grow tired, You hasten to meet; To welcome You always into my heart And Your abiding love to others impart. Lord Jesus, Please guide me as I start the Lenten journey anew— A journey toward repentance that You desire More than the donning of sackcloth or ashes. Though cleansed in Baptism through the Holy Spirit, I seek forgiveness for the times I have failed, Reminded of sin by the smudge of ashes. To You, O Lord, I desire to come with my whole heart, Offering myself and every sacrifice I make, Leaving love, not ashes, at the altar. Loving Savior, During this time of preparation and penance, May prayers, almsgiving, and fasting be for me A sacred pathway from ashes to Easter. Amen.

Heavenly Father, To You, I give thanks for the Holy Family: For the gentle presence of Mary, The upright example of Joseph, And for the obedience of Jesus. For my family members, I offer prayers for our needs And ask that we may be for one another A reflection of the Holy Family’s love. Amen.

God, our Father, Your Word is creative, Sustaining what You have made. May Holy Scripture bring me new hope In the blessings which I await. Lord Jesus, Remembering Your love, In Your care, I am gratefully blessed. I am one in the communion of faith Gathered for Word and Eucharist. Holy Spirit, Come in wind or whisper, Giving me comfort and grace. Constant companion on my life’s journey, Be my help in struggles I face. Amen.

Lord Jesus, You know all that I need and desire, Although I sometimes confuse the two. When what I want fails to transpire, Please grant me greater faith in You. Amen.

Loving Father, To You, I give thanks for the Lord Jesus, sent into the world to live among us and to be a patient, understanding, and sometimes challenging friend. For my friends, I offer prayers of gratitude that we have been drawn together. With each other’s love and help, may we draw closer to You. Amen.

Loving Father, When I think I can do things on my own, Please help me anyway. On the other hand, When I want You to be a handyman, Fixing this or that. Please help me to accept That in Your wisdom, You wear many hats. To tell the truth, I enjoy praise now and then. Please grant me more humility. To Love You above all things Is harder than it seems. Thank you for loving me even so. Amen.
2/26/19: Prayer for Peace
Lord, Jesus, peace is Your gift, Though it remains at times unopened. When my cares and anxieties get in the way, Please open my heart to Your peace. Yes, peace is Your gift, But I sometimes set it aside. When I am too focused on my struggles, Please help me to let Your peace inside. Peace that is Your gift, You lovingly leave with us. When I need to forgive or ask forgiveness, Please grant me the peace of leaving sin behind. Your peace is a gift Given for the purpose of sharing. When I can give comfort or help, Please share Your peace through me. Amen.
2/25/19: Remain With Me
Lord Jesus,
Remembering Your Passion, may I follow where you lead, and though I may be fearful, find in You the strength I need.
When I am burdened or distressed, please roll away the heavy stone so that I may feel You with me, not abandoned or alone.
Risen Savior, You appeared, but unrecognized at first; when I fail to see Your face, in Your love my heart immerse.

Lord Jesus, You came as loving Savior, Taking upon Yourself the burden of my failing. I give You thanks that You remain always To hold open the door of faith. With the Heavenly Father, all things are possible, Though at times I struggle with doubt. I give You thanks for forgiveness and hope renewed At the threshold of the door of faith. Jesus, our Good Shepherd, you were sent By the Father who desires that none be lost. I give You thanks that, even unbidden, You enter my heart through the door of faith. Lord, You have shown me the way Leading to eternal life with You. I give You thanks, for in prayer at any hour, You answer every knock on the door of faith. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Please be with the suffering in their need. For those who have lost family and friends, Please give comfort in their grief; For those in need of healing from illness or injury, Please give strength. Where homes and livelihoods have been lost, Please keep the victims close in the hearts Of people who can help. Where there is fear, please grant faith. Amen.

When healing of body or mind is not to be, Please help those who suffer To bear the pain and distress Through hope of redemption and eternal life. Blessed Virgin Mary, you became The Mother of our Lord, And your heart was surely rent To see Him suffer on the cross. For those who are painfully afflicted, Especially when their faith is sorely tested, Please bring comfort, For you are our loving Mother, too. Amen.
