Fourth Week of Advent/Christmas Week

Mary went to the home of Zechariah and Elizabeth. The two expectant mothers greeted each other, with Elizabeth exuberantly acknowledging Mary as Mother of the Lord and Mary proclaiming that God had done great things. On the night of the Lord’s birth, shepherds saw the glory of heaven and received tidings of the Savior’s birth. Just as an angel had said, they found Jesus cradled in a manger—a feeding trough. Two days after Christmas, the Gospel jumps ahead to Easter, when discovery of an empty tomb filled the Lord’s friends with confusion that would soon turn to rejoicing. Christmas reminds us that we may find the Lord in unlikely places here on Earth. As Advent comes to a close, will you find the time to spiritually prepare for a fulfilling celebration of Christmas?
