Martha confirmed her belief in Jesus as the Son of God, who could do whatever she asked. He raised Lazarus, her brother, from the dead. Like a tiny mustard seed that grows into a huge plant or the yeast that raises a whole batch of dough, even a little goodness can grow, but so can a little evil. In a revelation to Jeremiah, God compared His people to clay in the hands of a potter, who sees a project progressing badly and uses the same clay to try again. God persists in helping us! In Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth, people knew Him as the son of Mary and the local carpenter. They remained skeptical, despite miraculous works and the wisdom of His teaching. When we try to sort out our options in any situation, do we make it our goal to do the right thing and put the rest in God’s hands?
