March 08, 2017: In Time of Need
Loving God, I come before You in need and in gratitude. In times of illness or struggle, please give me the help I need to remain strong in faith. In times of loneliness, please bestow a renewed sense of belonging. In prayer, I give You thanks that, in asking, I have already received the grace needed to believe. Amen.

Vulnerable as in the desert, I pray to have the strength To overcome temptation– To thirst for holiness, though I am weak. Renewed in Baptismal commitment, I pray that the faith I share Will be a hope-filled blessing For others searching and in need. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Guide me as I begin the Lenten journey anew, A journey toward repentance that You desire More than sackcloth or ashes. Though cleansed in Baptism through the Holy Spirit, I seek forgiveness for the times I have failed, Reminded of my sin by the smudge of ashes. To You, O Lord, I long to return with my whole heart, Offering my prayers, fasting, and every sacrifice I make, Leaving love, not ashes, upon the altar. Amen.

Lord, Jesus, peace is Your gift, Though it remains at times unopened. When my cares and anxieties get in the way, Please open my heart to Your peace. Yes, peace is Your gift, But I sometimes set it aside. When I am too focused on my struggles, Please help me to let Your peace inside. Peace that is Your gift, You lovingly leave with us. When I need to forgive or ask forgiveness, Please grant me the peace of leaving sin behind. Your peace is a gift Given for the purpose of sharing. When I can give comfort or help, Please share Your peace through me. Amen.
