February 19, 2022: Prayer for Peace
Lord, Jesus, peace is Your gift, Though it remains at times unopened. When my cares and anxieties get in the way, Please open my heart to Your peace. Yes, peace is Your gift, But I sometimes set it aside. When I am too focused on my struggles, Please help me to let Your peace inside. Peace that is Your gift, You lovingly leave with us. When I need to forgive or ask forgiveness, Please grant me the peace of leaving sin behind. Your peace is a gift Given for the purpose of sharing. When I can give comfort or help, Please share Your peace through me. Amen.
February 18, 2022: Remain with Me
Lord Jesus, Remembering Your Passion, may I follow where you lead, and though I may be fearful, find in You the strength I need. When I am burdened or distressed, please roll away the heavy stone so that I may feel You with me, not abandoned or alone. Risen Savior, You appeared, but unrecognized at first; when I fail to see Your face, in Your love my heart immerse. Amen.

Lord Jesus, You came as loving Savior, Taking upon Yourself the burden of my failing. I give You thanks that You remain always To hold open the door of faith. With the Heavenly Father, all things are possible, Though at times I struggle with doubt. I give You thanks for forgiveness and hope renewed At the threshold of the door of faith. Jesus, our Good Shepherd, you were sent By the Father who desires that none be lost. I give You thanks that, even unbidden, You enter my heart through the door of faith. Lord, You have shown me the way Leading to eternal life with You. I give You thanks, for in prayer at any hour, You answer every knock on the door of faith. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Please be with the suffering in their need. For those who have lost family and friends, Please give comfort in their grief; For those in need of healing from illness or injury, Please give strength. Where homes and livelihoods have been lost, Please keep the victims close in the hearts Of people who can help. Where there is fear, please grant faith. Amen.

Blessed Virgin, In your gentle holiness, Please join in my prayer For those who are sick. Holy Mary, I come to you, In your closeness to Jesus, Who can heal with just a word. When healing of body or mind is not to be, Please help those who suffer To bear the pain and distress Through hope of redemption and eternal life. Blessed Virgin Mary, you became The Mother of our Lord, And your heart was surely rent To see Him suffer on the cross. Lord, many things can make days hard. In loneliness, stark as an empty chair, Please bring me peaceful solitude. With yet another piece of paperwork to do, Please write Your love again on my heart. When the weather makes me cry, “Enough,” Please calm the storminess of my mood. In the face of illness I can’t ignore, May I unite my suffering with Yours. Lord Jesus, You came to lighten the burdens That discourage and distract from You. When days are hard, please give me courage To hope beyond any setback. Amen.

Loving God, Throughout the day today, Help me to look at things a little differently. Yes, there will be violence in the world; Help me to focus on being more gentle. The weather will bring hardship to many; Help me to accomplish what I need to do without complaint. The poor and homeless will remain; Help me to make room in my heart for anyone I have shunned. People will suffer misfortune today; Help me to notice blessings I sometimes take for granted. I may find myself feeling pretty good or feeling downcast today; Help me to look to You with greater faith, no matter what. Amen.

Lord Jesus, the Word made flesh, When I am worried, anxious, or afraid, please grant me peace of heart, if only for the moments I spend reflecting on Your Word. For people making choices, please give them alternatives to violence and despair by inspiring openness to Your gentle Word. For nations in strife, please bestow wisdom found in Your Word on leaders whose decisions can devastate or elevate humanity. With hurtful things already said, please bless those who want the last say and find it your loving Word. Amen.
