6/4/19: Prayer for Hope
Lord Jesus, while I pray with hope in life eternal, I ask for the grace to bring hope in this world, wherever I can. Where there is violence, I hope for peace. Where people are suffering the aftermath of storms, I hope for calmness in weather and in hearts. For all who are suffering the loss of a loved one, of a job, of health, or any loss, please lead them to renewed hope where it will be found through Your grace. Amen.
6/3/19: Asking in Faith
Lord, I give You thanks and praise, yet come to You in need. In Your name, I ask; in Your promises, I believe. Amen.
6/2/19: As Summer Emerges
Heavenly Father, Please open my heart these summery days So that Your love may be more visible in me, As beautifully as a monarch emerging From its chrysalis. If at times my outlook is clouded by concerns, Help me to weather the storms And remember to look for the rainbow. In the warmth of shining sun, May my faith become more fervent, Not parched but bathed in Your light. Amen.

Of the miracle at a Cana wedding feast, The celebrations of summer remind. May I find joy, Lord, because You came To share life with us, the lost to find. Amen.
5/31/19: Lord, You Are with Us
Lord Jesus, I give You thanks, For You have kept Your promise to remain with us. In the people with whom we share our lives, We can see Your face. When we need direction, You are there to guide us, if only we follow the signs. When we need encouragement, We can always come to You. In times of painful uncertainty, You remain steadfast in Your love and understanding. Lord, You know my every care and dream; May I remain always with You. Amen.

Lord Jesus, I come to You in prayer and ask for the grace That I need on this day, in this time and place: To pray with confidence that You hold me dearly, Through good times and days when I grow weary; To look up to You with gratitude and praise, And in my life here on Earth not go astray; To be open to grace and while using Your gifts Trust in You, whose love and compassion uplift. Amen.
5/29/19: With Glorious Potential
Heavenly Father, I give You thanks for glorious potential. The caterpillar emerges from the chrysalis as a butterfly, yet the transformation cannot compare with the resurrection You desire for me. New leaves appear on trees following winter’s dormancy, a reminder that faith, too, can blossom. Loving Father, please help me to grow, to change, and to become the person you want me to be. Amen.

Lord, You are light, given that all might see. May I make Your love visible to people around me. Amen.

On this day, I bring to You my prayer for all who have lost life or loved ones in war. I pray, too, for those who have been hurt and seen things unimaginable before. May their sacrifices have continued meaning, love help them to endure, and their desire for peace be saluted with unforgotten gratitude. Amen.

Lord Jesus, today I pray in gratitude for all that You taught by sharing in our humanity. May I one day see You in the fullness of Your divinity. Amen.

Lord, Although You taught that faith can move mountains, Sometimes, it’s hard to believe. How often, in prayer, have I asked that my will be done And then missed opportunities to do what You desire for me. Please help me to have faith and to spread faith. Amen.

Lord Jesus, I ask for your blessing Upon those bearing the heavy burdens of war, Serving, protecting, and defending All that their bravery upholds. I pray for any in danger today, That in Your love You will keep them safe. Watching out for one another, May those shoulder to shoulder now Know the joy of coming home To their loved ones who anxiously wait. Amen.

For Your help when I am in pain, For hope greater than despair, Jesus, I turn to You. For comfort when I am lonely, For happiness though it seems far away, Jesus, I turn to You. For direction at every crossroad, For faith when I am afraid, Jesus, I turn to You. For forgiveness when I fail, For peace that is Your gift, Jesus, I turn to You. For openness to the fullness of grace, For a heart overflowing with love, Jesus, I turn to You. Amen.

Loving Father, You give each of us a vocation. To You, I give thanks For couples whose hearts share one love, And parents who treasure The children given to their care; For men and women in ordained and religious life, Whose presence brings comfort To a world in need of ministry; For single laypeople who serve You When they could be self-centered instead; For all of the faithful, whose purpose is Fulfillment of their place in Your eternal plan. Amen.

Lord Jesus, to You I pray: For my mother, whose arms held me close, Touching my heart with her gentle love; For the lessons taught on how to live: Pray, forgive, and rise above. For her comfort as I tried my wings Sometimes falling when I longed to soar; For encouragement to try again, While loving me all the more. For her love forever in my heart And cherished memories I embrace— Her ways of seeing, doing, bearing, With humility and grace. Amen.

Loving God, As the days grow longer, With each sunrise may I be reminded That You sent Your Son To be light for the world! In the rains that water Ground trampled and dry, may I be reminded, As on the road to Emmaus, Of the yearning for Words of life! And if a rainbow should appear And I gaze toward the heavens, may I be reminded Of the covenant You made And the spectrum of Your love. Amen.

Loving Father, You sent Your Son into the world, Where He walked on dusty roads and water; Please grant me the faith and grace I need To serve You from this moment onward. Lord Jesus, You sent the Apostles to go forth, To find welcome or shake the dust from their feet; Please help me to reflect Your love, By forgiving and leading others to faith. Holy Spirit, You have been sent to dwell within me, So that my life is never empty; Please help me to see renewed purpose And look for each day’s new opportunities. Amen.
