Blessed Virgin Mary, Please be with me as I pray: Even when I don’t understand, Let God’s will be done through me; If I lose sight of Jesus, May my searching lead me nearer to Him; When people I love are suffering, I ask that love help them through; During this penitential time of Lent, May prayer and sacrifice increase my faith. Because your Son lived and died to conquer sin, Let hope and forgiveness dwell in me. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Through parables that You once spoke, You taught us how to live. In a world in need of compassion, May I be loving and attentive. Amen.

Loving God, I come before You in need and in gratitude. In times of illness or struggle, please give me the help I need to remain strong in faith. Vulnerable as in the desert, I pray to have the strength To overcome temptation– To thirst for holiness, though I am weak. Renewed in Baptismal commitment, I pray that the faith I share Will be a hope-filled blessing For others searching and in need. Amen.

Loving Savior, During this time of preparation and penance, May prayers, almsgiving, and fasting be for me A sacred pathway from ashes to Easter. Please guide me as I start the Lenten journey anew— A journey toward repentance that You desire More than the donning of sackcloth or ashes. Though cleansed in Baptism through the Holy Spirit, I seek forgiveness for the times I have failed, Reminded of sin by the smudge of ashes. To You, O Lord, I desire to come with my whole heart, Offering myself and every sacrifice I make, Leaving love, not ashes, at the altar. Amen.

Blessed Virgin, In your gentle holiness, Please join in my prayer For those who are sick. Holy Mary, I come to you, In your closeness to Jesus, Who can heal with just a word. When healing of body or mind is not to be, Please help those who suffer To bear the pain and distress Through hope of redemption and eternal life. Blessed Virgin Mary, you became The Mother of our Lord, And your heart was surely rent To see Him suffer on the cross. For those who are painfully afflicted, Especially when their faith is sorely tested, Please bring comfort, For you are our loving Mother, too. Amen.

To be a faithful follower, When I feel far, far behind, Lord, please grant me the grace to listen To Your Word with open mind. To notice people as You did, When I would rather pass them by, Lord, increase in me the generosity To put my own desires aside. Lord, many things can make days hard. In loneliness, stark as an empty chair, Please bring me peaceful solitude. With yet another piece of paperwork to do, Please write Your love again on my heart. When the weather makes me cry, “Enough,” Please calm the storminess of my mood. In the face of illness I can’t ignore, May I unite my suffering with Yours. Lord Jesus, You came to lighten the burdens That discourage and distract from You. When days are hard, please give me courage To hope beyond any setback. Amen.
